Ebay store versus Ebay listings
78I will answer your topic "Do you prefer selling on Ebay with an Ebay store or just listing the items? Which is more beneficial to YOU?" from a buyers' perspective...
I may not be right, nor may I be the "majority" of ebay customers, but from my perspective and previous purchases on Ebay, I personally prefer to buy from sellers who have taken the time to build their own store. To me this shows that the seller is active and is planning on being around through the Ebay site for a fairly long time. I feel more comfortable purchasing their items than purchasing an item that is "singly" listed on the ebay site.
Now, is this "easier" for the seller? I doubt it - I don't sell on Ebay so don't really know, but from a glance it would take more time to setup a store and collectively list all your items in such a way as it makes sense. But I think it adds "professionalism" to your products as long as your store is thought out well. I do not like those Ebay stores that are all gibberish and you are lost in not knowing where to find the product they promise - Simple is best sometimes.
Hope this helps you... As I said though, I am not the majority nor may I be right - I could very well be the only buyer on Ebay that looks at it like this :P

Actually every item you list, whether it's a 'store listing' or not will appear in the store. But the reality is, only items listed in categories, in stores will be submitted to the search engines like Google by eBay.
I get a ton of traffic to my listings from Google, because I have the store. You also need to go the "Marketing Tab" in My eBay and "allow" the feed to be submitted. I'd also go to GoogleBase - formerly Froogle and submit a data feed of your items - it's a huge boost to your traffic numbers as well.
Real good article, I'm a listing type guya and do ebay on the side; I've been meaning to start a store soon, and testimonies like yours do help, thanks for stating your half, take care
no, no ...listings are 100, no 1000 times better than store listing...they don't even show up in ebays search
Hi
Nice article!!
By the way, eBay listings get much more exposure - but it is much more expensive to list than store items ( much much more…)
Glad to read your opinion and view, thanks! As a seller, I think sellers get the best coverage of all their auctions, so agree this is the best route, too.
Thanks for the tips!
Google searches will display store listings but apparently ebay page rankings have been dropping in google.
Store items do not show up in ebay searches (from the site) this is a huge drawback for a casual or low volume seller.
some of my other ebay thoughts

Smart Sellers will list a few auctions at cost/or even below each month in hopes of attracting traffic that then clicks through to the store listings
I agree with your point of view, too, good Hub piece. I prefer sellers who aren't out to take my money and run, ie. sellers who take time to get and stay establshied and even post complete contact info. There are too many rude sellers out there today who don't even reply to message at all.
I went surfing with meat tied to my ankle, not a good idea- It attracted a whole herd of flys!
Hi
I am confused I used to have store listing but when eBay made changes to the fixed price listing to stay for 30 for 35 cents.
I cancelled all my store listing and I thought all will be listing int the fixed format that will appear in the eBay search which will be better.
My Experince is sales dropped I don't know why.
May be becuase I this means that my store listing are not showing on Google any more I don't have an idea.
But I started again to list store at the same time.
Usually eBay store sell some set of product, i.e. products that they produce for example. But what about if you need to purchase something other? It is easy to search for the product on whole eBay then make double work: search for eBay store that sell the required product and then search for the product itself. Btw what can you say about this example of store crystal changelliers where you can seach for not only light devices?

I think that if you are merchanting you should use a store, but if you are just selling or disposing of some “stuff” you don’t need to build a store.

Good Article, I set up an ebay store a few years ago. It was fairly easy to set up, but as a seller I seem to get better traffic and exposure by just listing as single auctions.
